Ornithoptera priamus green butterfly, 1800, deep pendant necklace
‘Papilio Priamus’, now Ornithoptera priamus. Illustration from ‘An epitome of the natural history of the insects of India: and the islands in the Indian seas: comprising upwards of two hundred and fifty figures and descriptions of the most singular and beautiful species’, by Edward Donovan, London, 1800.
This pendant is made with extra-deep 11mm glass, which gives an intriguingly lively magnifying effect. The crown-like pendant setting is made from metal alloy and the glass cabochon is 25mm across.
Choose a 24” (60cm) silver tone chain, or an 18” (45cm) black leather cord or black organza and cotton cord.
