Italian medieval manuscript illustration, deep glass earrings
This tiny floral detail comes from a beautifully illustrated late-Medieval manuscript, the Hours of Bonaparte Ghislieri, or the Albani Hours - made in Bologna, Italy, in 1500. It belongs to the British Library.
The earring pendant trays measure 12mm diameter and 3.5mm deep, and are made from silver-plated brass. The glass cabochons are 10mm across and 6mm in depth, deeper than standard cabochons, creating an interesting and lively magnifying effect.
All earrings have sterling silver hooks and come in a sturdy black card gift box.
